If you want to understand a bit about just how unfair a tax system based on incomes is, have a watch, and hopefully buy the book - it goes into a lot more detail and will leave you I am sure convinced of the place of LVT.

Small changes - comments, forums etc

Outlining a few small changes to make the site easier to use.

We are hoping to get an initial meeting together at the Green Lib Dems' conference in Oxford over the weekend of 9th-10th June, 2007.

GLD are key potential partners in The 1909 Group, as with its emphasis on Land Value Tax and exploration of other economic issues such as monetary monopoly, we can promote key aspects of modern "green economics" - the idea of "Sustainable Abundance".  read more »

Who we are

A brief introduction to who we are, who we want to involve and why we believe the time is ripe for a group such as The 1909 Group.
Just under two years' from now sees the centenary of Lloyd-George's 1909 "People's Budget" that many regard as the launch pad of the Welfare State and the Liberal Reform agenda. Lib Dem campaign group ALTER (Action on Land Taxation and Economic Reform) is calling for a party-wide celebration of that centenary and a re-examination of some of the key issues that were left as "Unfinished Business" in the constitutional upheavals wrought by that government's radical liberal economic and social agenda.
